Driven by many factors, self-driving tour is becoming the preferred way to everyday casual urban residents. This research is under the guidance of the theory of push-pull and decision-making process, using literature analysis, interviews and expert advice tourists and other research methods to form questionnaire system, which mainly consists of three major parts:analysis of the characteristics of self-driving tourist’s destination choice, factors influencing destination preference, and demographic characteristics of the survey respondents. Take the experience of traveling by car or intent to travel by car of Fuzhou city dwellers as an example, and based on the research results to give some suggestions. The principal conclusions are as follows:1, Residents who want to travel by car compared with the experience of self-driving tourists, are younger and lower income; the female market has great potential.2, Self-driving tourists destination selection features:Tourists who prefer driving their own vehicles on weekends and summer vacations like to travel in Fujian or surrounding places, and no longer just go to popular attractions, but prefer interesting and good ecological environment places; Golden Week trip rates are reducing.3, Different gender, age, education and income tourists have difference choices in tourist destination.4, The factors, such as destination attractiveness, information perception, travel channel conditions, tourism environment, reference groups, situational factors, travel costs and personal conditions and so on, affect self-driving tourists choosing destinations, especially for the preferences for destinations types.5, According to the difference of destination selection factors, self-driving tourists can be divided into "Holiday enjoyment tourists", "Random impulse tourists", "Cautious tourists".6, Some suggestions how tourism destinations exploit the self-driving market:position target market and adjust business strategy.
