Research On The Application Of Task-Based Language Teaching In Primary School

China’s ministry of education respectively issued the Standard of English Curriculum for Full-time Compulsory Education in 2001 and 2011. They both definitely point out that teachers should try their best to put TBLT(Task-based language teaching) in practice in English class so that students can develop their integrated language ability by doing tasks.Meanwhile, together with the development of curriculum reform, more and more teachers begin to study TBLT and try to put it into teaching practice. By now, they have made some achievements. However, they also suffer some puzzles and challenge. Therefore, this thesis intends to put forward some suggestions and operation standards on TBLT practice based on an investigation made in Fuzhou education college fourth affiliated elementary school. This thesis consists of six chapters:Chapter one is the introduction, which briefly discusses the origin, background, significance, question, methods and limitation of this research.Chapter two introduces the definition of task, difference between task and practice and the Characteristics and principles ofChapter three presents the theoretical basis of TBLT which includes Linguistics basis, Learning theory basis and Teaching theory basis.Chapter four is about the implementation of TBLT which includes implementation framework of TBLT made by former researchers and classroom observation framework of this research.Chapter five introduces the observation of the application of TBLT in Fuzhou education college fourth affiliated elementary school, which includes sample selection, observation index and Mrs.Zeng’s teaching characteristics.Chapter six summarizes the teaching suggestions and operation standards of TBLT.
