Physics is a subject that is based on experiments, but the procedures of many experiments are abstract, which is hard to be fully understood by students, and even the live experiments have problems of short process, which lead to poor results. This paper investigated the simulation experiments made by Mathematica software and the problems of applying them into senior physics teaching. By using the simulation experiments, abstract experimental procedures and physical knowledge can be presented lively and students can have a better understanding in learning so that they can be more active and initiative. Therefore, the efficiency in physics teaching will be promoted. This paper, based on the following two theories: creation of learning situations in Constructivism Learning Theory, Edgar Dale’s direct experience of the Tower of Experiment Theory, designs simulation experiments in senior physics teaching. Firstly, after the analysis of Mathematica software’s features and the discussion about the possibility that it could be applied to physics teaching, we made simulation experiments and especially selected three typical experiments with the decomposition of designed processes and thoughts. Then, we put simulation experiments into practical physics teaching and carried out the experimental physics teaching in Grade one of Pingjiang No.4 Senior School. Students’ evaluation of simulation experiments was carefully investigated and analyzed. And the test results among different classes were carefully counted and analyzed. Finally, we concluded the influence that simulation experiments designed by Mathematica software had on senior physics teaching.
