The situation of C hinese higher education has significant changes in recent decades. With the expansion of university enrolment, C hinese higher education accessed to the stage of Mass Higher Education. The quality of higher education has become the focus of attention in educational circles and even the society. A demand of transferring the extension development to connotation development becomes intense. With the “Student-centered” education theory and teaching beliefs studied and practiced in higher education research, the external supervision and accountability became strength in teaching evaluation that given the rapid rise of college student survey in China. Chinese College Student Survey researched by Tsinghua University has great impact on many projects. The continuous development of “Student Engagement” bring a new perspective and research basement for C hinese undergraduate education quality measurement and security. The present thesis, by means of literature analysis, questionnaire and statistical analysis method, tried to illustrate and verify the interactive relationship between “Student Engagement”and“Academic Performance”. Through the research of “main words”, the thesis conclude“Student Engagement” and “Academic Performance” research foundation. Based on the CCSS questionnaire, the indicators including “K nowledge Acquisition”, “Capability Improvement” and “Q uality C ultivation” represent “Academic Performance” effectively was built. For exploring the empirical relationship between the Student Engagement and Academic Performance, the research carries out empirical study from the aspect of “comprehensive analysis”, “University Diagnosis” and “Study Diagnosis” based on survey datas from C university which is belong to 985 projects university by using the tools of SPSS and AMOS. The details are laid as follows: Firstly, we need to describe the index to determine if the Student Engagement and Academic Performance have significant relation between each other. and then based on the understanding of relations, we establish Structural equation modeling to Measure the d influence between different index by path analysis tools. It is approved that student engagement has an obvious relationship with academic performance; it has significant influence on academic performance in student engagement, such as “Reflective and Integrative Learning”, “Supportive Campus Environment”, “studious/weary of Learning” and “Enriched Educational Experiences”; On the other side, the indicators which include “Quantitative Reasoning”,“Effective Teaching Practices” and “Cognitive Object of Curriculum” are relatively weak.Classified and analyzed the data, this paper put forward some suggestions as follows to promote the academic performance of C hinese undergraduate students. O n the whole, take notice of the impact mechanism to improve undergraduate education situation; improve the knowledge acquisition context to enhance the effect of knowledge inheritance; build capacity enhancement platform to promote students quality; explore the path of quality cultivation to cultivate talents. The emphasis is : develop on the efficient indicators to improve academic performance: pay attention to reflective and integrative learning to cultivate knowledge transfer and internalization; perfect the education support environment to promote the comprehensive development of students learning; strengthen the study emotion training to mobilize the enthusiasm of learning. In the future investigate on “potential indicator” to activate the learning engagement: enrich teaching practices to meet needs of student development; construct student and faculty interactive mechanism to encourage interaction between student and faculty; expand after-class learning, provide students more learning and development space.
