Mathematics as a comprehensive discipline,not only to learning,more want to know why.In a mathematical problem solving process,as the skills of operating procedures and steps behind the principle an basis, knowledge for reason of mathematical computations is to understand why.In elementary school,the mastering of knowledge for reason of mathematical computations has close relation with the mathematics achievement and the interest in mathematics learning.This paper mainly high school students for the study,by means of an empirical study on the relationship between knowledge for reason of mathematical computations and the other factors.For the convenience of the study,the author through to arrange high school knowledge for reason of mathematical computations and refer to the relevant literature,on the basis of mathematical knowledge a nd the corresponding,are classified as follows:equation type,definition type,rules and methods type,provision type and theorems type.Using questionnaires and use spss17.0,excle2010 for data analysis.The main finding of this paper:①Overall,the high school students exerts not ideal in mastering knowledge for reason of mathematical computations.The science students’ pass rate is 26.4%,the liberal arts students’ pass rate is only 7.7%.From the number of pass rate,we can find the knowledge for reason of mathe matical computations mastering of science students is superior to the liberal arts students.Among the five types of algorithm, for students of the equation and theorems type is good,pass rates were 72.5% and 52%.The students master the worst is the rules a nd methods type,which pass rate is only 16%.Many students can memorize the rules and methods of mathematics,and applied to solve the problem,but can not answer why the establishment of rules and methods.②The level of knowledge for reason of mathematical computations has nothing great relationship with student’ sex.③The students’ academic performance has a statistically significant positive correlation with the grasping of knowledge for reason of mathematical computations.④The students’ interest in mathematics learning has a statistically significant positive correlation with the grasping of knowledge for reason of mathematical computations.⑤The mastering of knowledge for reason of mathematical computations just has some relationship with the students’ creative thinking.
