Ideological and political education is the world common education behavior, only different countries for its appellation. The same to the materiality of the ideological and political education, and accumulated some successful experiences and methods. China and the United States because of the different social system and ideology and culture, ideological and political education between the two countries in such aspects as characteristics, content and way to both exist certain differences, there is a certain commonality, it is necessary to comb and compare the similarities and differences, analyzing the causes, aims to complement each other, absorbing the advantages of the ideological and political education, improve the theory on ideological and political education in China. This article tries from the comparative study of ideological and political education in colleges and universities of China and the United States way, induction and analysis of ideological and political education of the two countries in the form of their main ways and characteristics of the concrete analysis of the two countries similarities and differences and the reasons of the ideological and political education, summarizes the analysis of American colleges and universities to carry out the ideological and political education on the way to the edge, put forward some ways of ideological and political education in colleges and universities is instructive principles and methods. A comparative study of ideological and political education in colleges and universities of China and the United States for better work to strengthen and improve ideological and political education in colleges and universities, enhance the actual effect, has the vital significance.The content of this article is divided into five chapters. Paper first part mainly discusses the definition of the concept of the ideological and political education, and made a brief overview of the connotation of ideological and political education of China and the United States. On this basis, this paper briefly describes the development of contemporary Chinese ideological and political education and the development of American colleges and universities’ ideological and political education history, and comparative study of ideological and political education in colleges and universities of China and the United States the significance of summarized and analyzed. The second part and the third part introduces the main way in China’s ideological and political education and the main channel of ideological and political education in colleges and universities in the United States. The fourth part and the fifth part mainly elaborates the similarities and differences in ways of ideological and political education in colleges and universities of China and the United States and its enlightenment to ideological and political education in colleges and universities. This part is the focus of this article. From the way of ideological and political education differences between China and the United States comparison, analysis the advantages and characteristics of ideological and political education in the United States, is put forward in China’s ideological and political education in colleges and universities need to draw lessons from and absorbing the benefits of the ideological and political education in colleges and universities, to strengthen the effectiveness of the ideological and political education in colleges and universities.
