Workplace ostracism describes the extent to which an employee perceives that he or she is excluded, ignored or rejected by others in the workplace. It elicits extensive attention of scholars to the negative impact on organization and employees, and it become a worthy study subject that how to prevent or reduce the workplace ostracism. Taking new employees in financial industry as an example, we analysed the structure of workplace ostracsim, and developed an appropriate workplace ostracism questionnaire by adopting interview and questionnaire survey method. Meanwhile, this study explored influencing factors of workplace ostracism from the angle of environmental features and relational characteristics. To be specific, this study explored the relationship between avoidant conflict culture and workplace ostracism, and considered the mediation of interpersonal trust and moderation of task interdependence on the relationship. Main conclusions of the study are as follows:(1) Workplace ostracism to the new employee in financial industry consisted of two dimensions, namely, work ostracism and interpersonal ostracism.(2) The questionnaire of workplace ostracism presented good reliability and validity, which complyed with the requirement of psychometrics. It could be used as an effective measurement tools to assess the workplace ostracism.(3) Avoidant conflict culture had a significant positive correlation with workplace ostracism.(4) Interpersonal trust partly mediated the relationship between avoidant conflict culture and workplace ostracism. Task interdependence negatively moderated the relationship between avoidant conflict culture and workplace ostracism.(4) There are significant differences in demographic variables such as gender, years of work experience, type of position,but no significant difference was observed in age and education.
