As a typically workplace mental violence,Workplace Ostracism is existing all types of organizations.The research has indicated that Workplace Ostracism can affect employees' health,attitude and behavior in negative ways.College counselors are the main undertakers of the ideological and political education work,in addition to the ideological and political work for college students,there are a lot of work needs cooperation from the leadership,other counselors and teachers to complete.Therefore in the practical work of the counselor,it's inevitable that there will be such kind of undesirable interpersonal interaction.Some studies suggest that workplace ostracism adversely affect workplace loneliness of employees.But the exact mechanism of its effect on the occurrence was inadequate.What's more,there was no previous research discussed with specific groups.In this study,we take the college counselors as the research object,introducing the organization-based self-esteem and self-concept clarity as the mediators to explore the internal mechanism between workplace ostracism and workplace loneliness.286 college counselors from several universities in Guangxi is the sample.the Workplace Ostracism Scale,The Workplace loneliness Scale,the Organization-based Self-esteem Scale and the Self-concept Clarity Scale are used in the test in order to collect valid data.Make full use of the software SPSS 19.0 and Bootstrap.Use the statistic method of independent samples t-test,one-way analysis of variance and correlation analysis and mediation effect test.At last,process and analysis the collected data by using Amos23.0.The results are as follows:(1)There were significant differences on workplace ostracism for college counselor of different genders,ages,educational level,worktime.There did exist significant difference on coworker ostracism between different technical post levels.There are significant differences on organization-based self-esteem and self-concept clarity of different worktime;(2)Workplace ostracism is significantly and negatively correlated with organization-based self-esteem and self-concept clarity;Organization-based self-esteem is not only positively correlated with self-concept clarity,but also negatively correlated with workplace loneliness;Self-concept clarity is significantly and negatively correlated with workplace loneliness;(3)Workplace ostracism could significantly positively predict the workplace loneliness;(4)Organization-based self-esteem has a significant mediation effect on workplace ostracism and workplace loneliness;(5)Self-concept clarity has a significant mediation effect on workplace ostracism and workplace loneliness;(6)The chained intermediating effect of organization-based self-esteem and self-concept clarity is apparent in workplace ostracism and workplace loneliness,i.e.workplace ostracism does not only have direct effect to workplace loneliness,but also cause indirect effect to workplace loneliness through the mediating effect of organization-based self-esteem and self-concept clarity.
