Since the mid 90’s, along with the rapid rise and development of the Internet and multimedia technique, distance education has encountered new challenges and opportunities. In the world, the developed countries and the developing countries including China began to develop the Internet-based distance education. As the pilot study, these colleges take an active part in the development of online teaching. The way of teaching does not have limitations in time and places and in a large degree it is regarded as a breakthrough of the teaching modes.However, there are still large rooms to enhance people’s Internet-using habits and trust in the Internet, because the Internet has not yet been universal. Thus, the online education has not yet happen on a large scale. Even so, the mode of distance education is still catching people’s eyes and arousing debates. For example, some related research gave people some enlightenment about how to improve the interactions between teachers and students as well as among students.In the past decade, the online education has been developing rapidly and its scale has been expended to the next level in China. Besides the online platforms of education held by some colleges, there are also many commercialized online educational platforms. These platforms take a full advantage of the online interactions and become more socialized on website designs and accessibility settings. Thanks to the interactions online, online learners feel less lonely and isolated and the barriers between learning and teaching becomes are broken down, thereby more people participating in the building of knowledge online. Yet, in the case of the socialization of e-learning, many problems hide beneath the surface of the prosperity.This study takes Hujiang-the largest online educational platform-as an example to explore users’ behaviors and psychological motivation in the ways of virtual ethnography, online questionnaires and in-depth interviews. This study aims to explore how to improve the quality of e-learning’s socialization and the effectiveness of knowledge production and diffusion.This study indicates that learners on the socialized platform could have such problems as excessive self-presentation and social anxiety. At last, this study will give some suggestion to the platform operators and learners. For the operators, they should play the roles well of teachers, socialization, organizers and technicians and provide the learners with a platform of efficient learning and high-quality socialization. Meanwhile, the learners are suggested to manage their study in a correct and rational way.
