Objective: This study aimed to use the "Delaware School Climate Surveys-Student(DSCS-S)" to conducted a questionnaire survey on Chinese sixth-graders from different schools, different genders and perceived their opinions on the campus atmosphere they are involved in, and through the " Delaware School Climate Surveys-Student(DSCS-S)" the reliability and validity study to test the stability and effectiveness of the systems. Methods: This study according to the principle of stratified cluster sampling, a random sample of total 418 students from five schools were selected as the research objects, adopted the " Delaware School Climate Surveys-Student(DSCS-S) " the questionnaire to survey the different school campus atmosphere condition. After four weeks from the end of the investigation, the study selected 47 samples from the whole group to get retested, in order to ensure the test-retest reliability and effect of the Delaware School Climate Surveys. In addition, the research uses Cronbach ’s alpha and split half reliability coefficient is to evaluate the internal consistency of the questionnaire. Indicator of retest reliability is to investigate questionnaire stability across time. Inspect the structure validity of the scale through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. Besides, the study sue life satisfaction and depression as the criterion to evaluate validity of the questionnaires.Result:(1)The Cronbach ’s alpha of DSCS-S is 0.853. The range of Cronbach ’s alpha of seven sub-test is from 0.663 to 0.825.(2)The split half reliability coefficient of DSCS-S is 0.852. The range of split half reliability coefficient of seven sub-test is from 0.638 to 0.840.( 3) The retest reliability of DSCS-S is 0.661. The retest reliability of seven sub-test is from 0.439 to 0.696.(4) The exploratory factor analysis find that seven factors were identified, which is different from the structure of DSCS-S. The result of confirmatory factor analysis shows that X2/Df=1.845,IFI=0.800,RMSEA=0.065, figures reach the ideal level.(5)The relevance of DSCS-S and sub-tests is from 0.177 to 0.432. The relevance of seven sub-tests is from 0.198 to 0.510.(6)The relevance of seven sub-tests and Students’ Life Satisfaction Scale(SLSS) is from 0.177 to 0.293.The relevance of DSCS-S and SLSS is 0.331. The relevance of seven sub-testsand Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale(CES-D) is from 0.299 to 0.403. The relevance of Delaware School Climate Surveys-Student(DSCS-S) and CES-D is-0.398.(7)The range of total scores is from 76 to 135, the average scores of individual is 106.49,the standard deviation is 10.05.(8)There are noticeable difference in terms of respect for the relationship between teachers and students among city school, suburban school and rural school.(9)There are noticeable difference in terms of respect for the Teacher-Student Relations, Student-Student Relations and The Campus Bullying between the male and female students.Conclusion:(1)Delaware School Climate Surveys-Student(DSCS-S)has high validity in terms of structure and criterion.(2)DSCS-S is reliable and stable.(3) There are noticeable difference in terms of respect for the relationship between teachers and students among city school, suburban school and rural school. There are noticeable difference in terms of respect for the Teacher-Student Relations, Student-Student Relations and The Campus Bullying between the male and female students.(4)DSCS-S can apply to Chinese sixth-grade students to investigate on school climates.
