The thought of combination of algebra and geometry is not only the difficult point in mathematics of junior middle school,but also the important test item in entrance examination to senior middle school. Nowadays, with the development of information technology and new curriculum reform, lots of math teachers have paid much attention to the question of how to teach students the combination of algebra and geometry in the help of information technology and how to make them understand the combination of algebra and geometry using information technology.The rise of GeoGebra provides a new idea to the solution of the question. This article makes a brief introduction of GeoGebra and uses living examples to discuss the research on teaching with the thought of combination of algebra and geometry using GeoGebra.Based on data studies, the writer divides the thought of combination of algebra and geometry into three categories, such as a geometric solution for algebra, using algebraic method to solve geometric problems and the transformation of algebra and geometry. The writer uses GeoGebra to explain in detail how to make program of integer addition and formula of square difference under the circumstances of a geometric solution for algebra. The writer uses GeoGebra to explain in detail the nature of axial symmetry and angular bisector under the circumstances of using algebraic method to solve geometric problems. The writer uses GeoGebra to explain in detail the linear function of k and b,quadratic function of basketball parabolic fitting game and the unit circle in the increase and decrease of trigonometric function under the circumstances of transformation of algebra and geometry.Finally, after using GeoGebra,the writer analyzes students’ interests and attitudes towards maths, the reason why they have interests in maths and their favorite teaching process via questionnaire. The conclusion of the article are as follows. First GeoGebra makes students more active towards maths and can find new problems. Second, GeoGebra facilitates the solution of questions containing the thought of combination of algebra and geometry and helps to find the underlying quantitative relations. Third, students’ information technology are upgraded after using GeoGebra.
