English as a foreign language subject, students are not rich language environment and learning conditions. The teachers there are many problems in the English professor, the most important is: "time consuming more, with lower". Because of this, in order to improve the present situation of junior middle school English teaching in our country, the author thinks that should adopt situational teaching method. Situational teaching method has strong intuitive, scientific and interesting, can effectively improve the students’ interest in learning English, learning attitude, learning motivation, strengthen the subject consciousness of the students, arouse their subjective initiative.This thesis begins with the etymology of situational teaching, find relevant theoretical support, and the teaching situation in the domestic research present situation to do a presentation and summary, pointed out the appropriateness on foreign language learning. Through the analysis of the present situation of English education for junior middle school, put forward the importance of Situational Teaching. The author provides two classroom teaching cases, in detail introduced by creating effective situation to carry out teaching. And by a semester of situational teaching practice, using questionnaire and student achievement to contrast, found that students’ English achievements has been significantly improved, and this shows that in the junior high school English teaching situation teaching method is more effective than the traditional English teaching method.The author combined with years of experience in teaching English, also provides some suggestions on successful implementation of situational teaching method, in order to offer you a line of English teachers and researchers.
