In the early 20th century in Western countries, Musical, as an art form which can be penetrated into education, started to gain the favor of the public. Its diversity and inclusiveness are exactly in line with the standards of music education in high schools, which require it should blend together with;The lyrics, dance, theater in a musical can create an actor in a comprehensive way.Thus, it meets the idea of General Education nowadays with the aim that improve students’artistic accomplishment.This paper is going to discuss the reasonableness of teaching musicals in junior high schools. It will be expanded through the experience of running musical clubs and teaching and performing musical. This paper is written only for the reference of people who are of the same interest.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part includes the introduction and the explanation of the purpose and significance of the research by comparing the research status at home and abroad.The second part focuses on elaborating the significance of teaching musicals in junior high schools. It will be discussed from the students’mental and favorable factors brought by musical teaching. A preliminary idea of the existing musical club in Changqing No.2 Middle School will be discussed as well.The third part is to demonstrate the process of learning and practice of the school musical "Persuit".The fourth part is a summary of this practical experience and an expression of hoping more young people to learn and grow through learing musicals.
