Since the new curriculum reform about history in senior high, to culture the ability of analysis of the historical materials has become a basic task in history teaching in senior high school. In the meanwhile, it suits the need of National College Entrance Examinations, contributing to culture the historic thinking ability to meet the need of society’s development.Hence, the research on this point is of vital importance, on which the scholars at home and abroad have done introduction and research. However, the specific methods that put it into practice are still lacked. Under this circumstances, the author of this paper does some practice and thinking on 4 aspects about the culturing the high school students’ ability of analysis of the historical materials based on the teaching practice. First, the illustration of the necessity and possibility of culturing the high school students’ ability of analysis of the historical materials stresses that the culturing the high school students’ ability of analysis of the historical materials is imperative. Secondly, it points out the principles of comprehensiveness, variety, and moderate degree. Thirdly, it stresses the practice of culturing the high school students’ ability of analysis of the historical materials, which is the shining point in this paper. As for this, the author put forward different methods of culture according to different types of historical materials and students, of which the types pf historial materials are classified as literal materials and image materials. Each kind of historical types is combined with relavent cases. The author illustrates the methods to culturing students’ ability according to students’ different levels in three stages as follow. As for the fresh men, the culturing of historical material analysis and information extraction; as for the sophomore, the fulfillment of the historical mind is to be involved, including historical image thinking, historical logical thinking and the development and complement of historical criticism and creativity; as for the senior, the culturing of integrated application and emphathy ability is to be attached importance to. Last but not least, the specific problems in teaching course are analyzed and explored, in terms of the teacher leading conduct, the reflection of the students leading, and the reasonable application of information technology.Because of the several problems in practice, the author realizes the necessity to culture the students’ ability of historical materials analysis. As a middle school teacher in the front, improvement, thinking, and reflection are still needed.
