Objective:To test the variations of peripheral blood glucose level, brain glucose, brain glycogen, blood lactate level, brain lactate level, the monoamines level such as NE, DA, DOPAC,5-HT,5-HIAA.Methods:The experiment used 48 c57/bl rats which were randomly divided into the control group (C), sedentary-exhausted swimming group (SE) and creatine supplemented exhausted swimming group (CE).3 times adaptable training were taken before the experiment. Creatine was intraperitoneal injected 30 minutes before swimming for CE group rats while saline solution was injected as a placebo to SE group. Blood taken from apical heart, cortex, hippocampus, striatum, cerebellum, diencephalon and brainstem were collected. Blood glucose level and blood lactate level were tested with automatic glucose/lactate analyzer, central monoamine neurotransmitters such as NE, DA, DOPAC,5-IIIAA and 5-HT were tested with HPLC; biochemical methods were used to measure brain glucose, brain glycogen and brain lactate levels.Results:1.Exercise capacity:Significantly it took more time for CE group to swim to be exhausted compared with SE group; 2. Glucose/glycogen metabolism and lactate metabolism level:Blood glucose levels of SE group, CE group were lower than those of C group. Blood glucose levels of SE group were lower than those of CE group.Compared with C group, brain glucose and brain glycogen levels of SE group, CE group were lower. Blood lactic acid and brain lactate of SE group, CE group were higher than that of C group; 3.5-HT,5-HIAA levels in cerebral cortex, hippocampus, striatum, diencephalon, brainstem and cerebellum of SE group, CE group increased compared with C group. DA, DOPAC levels in all six brain areas of SE group, CE group decreased compared with C group; Compared with C group, NE level in cerebral cortex, diencephalon of SE group was significantly increased, while that in brainstem, hippocampus and striatum regions decreased slightly. Conclusion:Exogenous creatine phosphate supplement facilitated the synthesis of ATP to provide the activity, which prolonged the time till exhaustion; there was no significant difference of peripheral blood glucose and brain glycogen level between the two exercise groups; various amounts or energy resources were demanded during exhausting process among various brain regions...
