Mr.Luo Yuankun is a famous historian and educator in our country, but also the teacher of young Mao zedong.He teaches in two places all his life,one is Xinhua,and the other is changsha.In the long teaching career,he compiles a lot of teaching materials and teaching reference books,and also participate in middle school work.In the late 19 th century and early 20 th century,with the development of history textbooks and education theory, many scholars began to compilie textbooks by themselves.Mr.Luo Yuankun wrote the book “The High School National History”, which was based on the high school history curriculum standards of 1932. This book was published by the Shanghai Kaiming bookstore. After several paintings, it was widely spread, and many school took it as their basic teaching materials. By studying the middle school textbooks in the 1920s-1930 s of 20 th such as “The High School National History”of Luo Yuankun,We can observe the past and present, summarize the experiences and lessons, and critically inherit the advantages of the history textbooks.Beside it can provide reference for the development of the contemporary middle school history textbooks,and make the better writing of middle school history textbooks.In the book “The High School National History”of Luo Yuankun, he adopts the general history style, and teaches history in chronological order. On the basis of the new curriculum standards, he divided the book into four parts:ancient history, medieval history, modern and contemporary history, and every part is divided into different sections. For the specific content of each section, the book has also been made a detail processing. For example, using the size of words to distinguish the depth of learning, using the symbol to indicate the learning emphasis,and all of this is in order to make it meet the students’ learning degree as much as possible. In content, this book is completely in accordance with the curriculum standard to write, and the emphasis is put on the generation and development of our nation, the changes of the cultural, political, economic and social in each era, diplomatic failure and treaty issues since modern times, the contribution of each nationality on the culture and the evolution of academic thoughts, and so on. Although this book is entirely based on the curriculum standards, the structure of the text set is unique and innovative, such as the illustrations, comments, and problem setting.In all,each link in this book has its unique. The book uses the map to show the historical process flexibly, uses charts to explain complicated relationships, uses annotations to deepen the extension of teaching contents, and helps to consolidate the knowledge they have learned, improve their ability.A textbook can’t please everyone, certainly it has its own advantages and limitations, so as the book“The High School National History”. The concept of the book is very clear, get rid of the boring,and makes every effort to arouse students’ curiosity and interests in learning with new knowledge.More than that, it uses auxiliary to develop students’ knowledge, and sublimate students’ emotional attitude and values through combining with the situation of the society at that time and teaching times content. As it was written in the 1930 s, In today’s opinion, this book also has some limitations. In terms of its content, the writings in classical style flavor is still very strong, and is not conducive to the students’ reading. Problems setting after class not only more but multifarious, the perspective of history is not comprehensive, and even radical in some places. Otherwise the specific historical background of the book has certain restrictions on his content.Through Further study of “The High School National History”, it can at least provide us the following reference and enlightenment: the content selection of textbooks should not only in accordance with the curriculum standard, but also keep pace with the times. Otherwise,we should pay attention to the frontiers of academic development, and continue to absorb the new research results.
