Introduction And Research For The Existing State Of Amateur Cycling In Taiyuan City

China is a large nation of bicycle, which the number of bicycle is in the front rank of the word and which has a broad mass base. With the continuous improvement of living standards, amateur cycling, which has many functions including fitness, relaxation, travel and pro-environment, is especially tempting as people paid more attention to physical and mental health.Now, amateur cycling is so popular in Taiyuan city that the number of cycling club and people who participates in this game is increasing continuously. This paper first analyses related issues that we find from the existing state of amateur cycling in Taiyuan and then a corresponding suggestion is proposed in order to promote and develop this game in Taiyuan.The current situation of amateur cycling is investigated by several methods including documentation method, interview method, questionnaires method, mathematical statistics method and logic analysis method.The results of the study are as follows:1. The characters of amateur cyclists include:Male proportion being higher than women’s, age being mainly during 18 and 35, vocation covering government organs and other institutions and enterprises, and degree being mainly undergraduate course.2. The characters of amateur cycling include:Riding being organized mainly in the weekend, the number of people being less than ten in general, riding 2-3 times per week on average, the distance being mainly during 20km and 40km, riding time being in 2 hours, cycling places being mainly in the suburbs.3. The percentage of bike geeks who acquire safety knowledge mainly through the experienced cyclists and the club is 62% because they lack riding experience.4.46.9% of bike geeks take part in amateur cycling mainly through introduction from friends while both the scale and number of riding game held by Taiyuan can’t satisfy cyclists.5. Most of amateur clubs, which are publicized by old members, has been set up in more than 3 years and most coaches in clubs are amateurs. To avoid risk, bike geeks are asked to wear protective devices and fashion a totally travel plan. The main factors affecting development of the club is the poor external environment and the bad market mechanism.6. What affects the development of amateur cycling in Taiyuan is first lacking the support from government and next insufficient understanding of this sport. Lack of publicity is the third factor which influences development of this sport.Based on the existing problems of amateur cycling in Taiyuan, suggestions are put forward as follows:(1) for the government, the management and the supporting force strengthened respectively. (2) The club should strengthen the safety knowledge training for member, complete the safe protective measures, grasp the external environment to paying attention to the characteristic management, enhance the propaganda force and enrich the propaganda means, introduce technicians actively, hold more games of different forms and increase the scale of games. (3) For personal, it is necessary to enhance the consciousness of risk and promote amateur cycling actively.
