With science and technology developing in the 21 st century, modern biological science and technology has also developed rapidly, which puts forward a severe challenge for the current school education. In this circumstance, to deepening the comprehensive reform of education, guaranteeing the fair education and improving the quality of education become a major trend, thus, it is important for every student to accept a good and all-round education. But in daily teaching, high school students have some difficulty in biology, so, solving learning difficulty in biology, analyzing its internal and external reasons and putting forward countermeasures are practically significant.By means of literature retrieval, questionnaire survey, interview and case analysis, the status of learning difficulty in biology is investigated, and the influencing factors are also analyzed. According to the investigation, three factors contribute to the difficulty. First, for lack of scientific learning methods and active attitudes to solving problems, students, who are uninterested in learning biological curriculum, remain short of enthusiasm and initiative, resulting in failure in biology. Second, teachers’ knowledge, teaching ability, teaching attitude and methods will directly influence students’ learning state. Meanwhile, the relationship between students and teachers is another influencing factor. Third, characteristics of biology are also the important factor that causes students to get into difficulty in learning.Besides, the author also puts forward various countermeasures with reference to the investigation so as to help students improve their learning, such as boosting their confidence in learning, using the forgetting rules to strengthen memory, assisting students in attribution, teachers’ changing attitude to students, adjusting the teaching methods and creating a harmonious relationship between teachers and students etc..Finally, the representatives of students with learning difficulties are selected for further analysis on the basis of proposed strategies.
