Life safety constitutes the basis of all activities of students. Compared with the common students, due to obstacles and limitations of recognition, understanding and communication, the students in special education schools are lack of consciousness and capability of safety in most cases; or due to their health problems, they usually confront more accidental injury threats and more remarkable life safety issues. As the important means of guaranteeing students’ individual life safety, safety education plays an important role in school education. This paper takes Chengdu S Special Education School as the Object of Individual Cases. Under the guided of Maslow’s need hierarchy theory and special educational biological outlook, this paper takes Guiding Outline of Public Safety Education among Middle Schools and Primary Schools as the research basis, and utilizes the individual case study, investigation method, literary research method and comparison research method. The study finds that special education in Chengdu S Special Education School shall be improved in the following aspects. The life safety issue of Special Schools shall be attached great importance more. Safety education object is not complete. The educational contents are incomplete. Educational strategies shall be optimized further. Safety educational goals stress “knowledge” while neglect “skills”. The process and effect comment of safety education are not sufficient. On this basis, the writer implemented the exploration of safety educational practice. The specific measures include the following aspects. In accordance with the students’ traits and demand, the educational focus are highlighted; pay priority of skill training on students’ safety issues by teachers; carry out trainings on parents for improving safety consciousness; further excavate and enrich the related resources of safety education; intensify the application of special education strategic skills in safety education. The practice in a semester witnessed good effect. Due to the short period, it is difficult to implement quantitative analysis. Through introspection on the practice, I think the scientific nature and rich contents of special education means of evaluating means in special education schools, and the further structuring of teachers and parents’ safety training contents system are the issues requiring further study in terms of special education schools. Compared with the already-known research, this paper adopts the scientific research method of combining individual cases study and action research. Discussion and analysis on the basis of practice exploration is more pertinent and practical. Meanwhile, this paper also concerns the safety training on teachers and parents and safety education contents with strong “specialties” in special educational schools. It is rare in the existing papers.
