Children are the future of the motherland and the hope of the nation.But frequent children safety accidents are threatening children’s lives.Therefore,safety education,as an important part of school education,should play its due role to enhance pupils’ self-protection ability.The purpose of the research is to know the current situation of school safety education,find out the existing problems,and put forward countermeasures to improve the effectiveness of primary school safety education.A primary school is the leading primary school in Qinhuangdao and it has some achievements in safety education.Therefore,this study selected A primary school as a case,mainly through the questionnaire survey,interview of students,teachers and related leaders,help us to understand the students’ safety knowledge and skills,the teaching situation of safety education courses,they all can reflect the status of safety education in A school.After investigation,the following achievements have been achieved in the safety education of A school: fully aware of the importance of safety education;the rich safety education methods,the normalization of safety education and the strong cultural atmosphere of campus safety.The reasons for this include: China has attached great importance to safety education for primary and secondary school students;school leaders are fully aware of their superiors’ requirements and play an exemplary role in safety education;teachers,especially the teachers of class teachers,recognize the importance of safety education and safety,and can pay attention to safety education and strengthen related management in education and teaching.The main problems are as follows: grade 1-3 students’ cognition and response ability to social safety accidents are insufficient;some students in grade 4-6 show the tendency to be addicted to video games;the students’ cognition and response ability to accidents of accidental injury need to be improved;the practice frequency of school safety education is slightly lower and lack of curriculum evaluation;school doesn’t take appropriate measures to campus bullying;lack of sex education;safety education in school lack of material support.In view of these problems,it is attributable to some aspects of government and society,schools,families and teachers,and then put forward some relevant suggestions,including the government and the society should take targeted measures to safety education,the school should improve the safety education link,teachers should strengthen their study and carry out individualized education for students of different learning periods and characteristics,safety education in family should be carried out in time,hoping these measures can play a positive role in primary school safety education.According to the requirements of “Guidelines for Public Safety Education in Primary and Secondary School”,this study investigates students based on different learning periods.Different problems in questionnaire and interview have been set up for students of different learning periods,so that we can have a better understanding of safety education of different learning periods,and also can find out their different problems,which made the research more pertinent and scientific,this is not found in the previous questionnaires.At the same time,owing to the limited knowledge and ability of the researcher,the proposed suggestions may not completely solved some of the problems,so relevant workers need to do further research.
