Investigation On The Developing Status Of Shijiazhuang City Primary School Sports Competition

Quality-oriented education requires cultivating students’ all-round comprehensive development in moral, intelligence, physique and aesthetics and labor education, and physique is also named sports. School physical education is an important component in educational work, which has a significant influence on strengthening students’ health awareness, on enhancing students’ physical fitness, on cultivating students’ lifelong sports thoughts, and even improving the overall health level of the whole society. Sport Competition is an extension of School Physical Education Curriculum, which is also the quantitative index for evaluation of physical education in schools. Elementary School Sport Competition is an important component of Elementary School Physical Education. Good competition system not only requires being consistent with the physiological and psychological characteristics of pupils, but also requires simple and universal characteristics. However, most sport competition in schools is confined to mainly take track and field events in school sports meeting which is held once a year. This kind of sport competition is difficult to achieve the goal of which students join together and to compete with each other in order to improve themselves; such kind of education does not meet the requirement of contemporary physical education, so that it reaches less than expected results. Therefore, it is necessary to pass a series of reform.Shijiazhuang is a developing city in China. It has a relatively higher economic level and a relatively perfect education system in China. According to consulting the document literatures, doing the questionnaire survey, visiting elementary school and doing mathematical statistics, I carried out an investigation and study about the present situation of sport competition in Shijiazhuang City elementary schools. I analyzed the influential factors of holding elementary school sport competition games in Shijiazhuang City; studied and summarized the present situation of sport competition in Shijiazhuang City elementary schools; found out the present problems of sport competition in Shijiazhuang City elementary schools; and then put forward some corresponding countermeasures and suggestions in order to make important instructions for a better and continuing development of sport competition in Shijiazhuang city elementary schools, and even to provide theoretical bases for the reform of school sport competition system in the future.Through the investigation of the present situation of elementary schools sports competition in Shijiazhuang City, the following conclusions are drawn:1 The influential factors of holding elementary schools sports competition in Shijiazhuang City are school leadership emphasis, school sports competition time, field, sporting events, student’s understanding of sports competition and other factors.2 Most Shijiazhuang City elementary schools recognize the importance of school sports competition, but the participant is not high.3 Shijiazhuang City elementary schools basically meet the requirements of holding sports competition. Elementary schools using the venues and equipment owned by schools are able to properly carry out sports competition. The majority of elementary schools carry out the sports meeting one time a year and one to two times individual competitions.4 The main formsof Shijiazhuang city elementary schools sports competition are sports meeting, individual competition, Shijiazhuang District and City elementary schools and secondary schools sports meeting and extracurricular sports activities, which are more common carried out in the first three forms.5 School sports meeting gives priority to track and field events, the individual competition is mainly about basketball or skipping game. The sports competition events are relatively simple and competitive, and they cannot reach the goal to making every student take participants in the sport events.6 Sports competition and school physical education have the relations of being complementary to each other and mutual promotion. Sports competition and campus culture are with the relationship of parts and whole. The two promote each other and influence each other.I put forward the following suggestion:1 Shijiazhuang District Education Bureau should increase investment and improve facilities of schools with poor physical education conditions; School leaders should update education idea, reform competition system; Physical education teachers should improve the quality of teaching and innovate competition activities.2 The school should pay attention to mass, scientific and fair; Schools should ensure the physical exercise time of students participating in physical exercise.3 School sports competition combines with extracurricular sports activities to cultivate students’ ideology of the long-term physical exercise.4 School sports competition should adopt in the form of flexible, diverse, and novel, and should combine with the national fitness program to promote the whole society’s attention to sports.5 School sports competition should reduce competitive, enhance security, interesting and universal, and face all students to reflect the fairness.6 Schools should play an incentive role of sports competition to reach the goal of making sports competition promote sports teaching and disseminating campus culture.
