Spatial Distribution Pattern Of Population And Its Regulation Policies In Jilin Province: Urban And Rural Planning Perspective

Population indices can reflect the social and economic development characteristics. Spatial distribution pattern of population is an important research area in urban and rural planning, especially in urban system planning. Since the reform and open, the overall changing characteristic and spatial distribution pattern of Jilin province have changed a lot from the planned economy period. From 2000, the increasing speed of population in Jilin province was very low. It is obviously that the population outflow from Jilin province to other provinces. With the fewer births and aged problems, the natural growth rate of population in Jilin province is very low. The regulation of population spatial distribution in Jilin province faces challenges because of the low-speed urbanization process and non-prominent agglomeration effect of the spatial axis.In the new urbanization process, it is very important to know the characteristics of population spatial distribution and impact mechanism in Jilin province. The regulation policies, which used to promote the reasonable distribution among the regions and among the cities, is the key of sustainable development in Jilin province.Firstly, we use the census data and statistical data to analyze the overall changing characteristics and population spatial distribution pattern of Jilin province. The characteristics of population change in Jilin province were low-speed growth、low-speed urbanization and spatial equilibrium.Secondly, we analyze the impact mechanism of population spatial distribution in Jilin province through the geographical conditions. The physical geographical pattern and natural resources endowment、industrial pattern and location、technical progress in transportation、regional policy change、modern services and scientific technology were very important for the population spatial distribution in Jilin province.Finally, we summarize the key problems in population spatial distribution in Jilin province and give the regulation policies under the urban and rural planning perspective.
