The rise of the Internet information age development provides the opportunity for Chinese culture, the Internet has become an indispensable part of People’s Daily life, but the concealment of the network virtual, freedom, and uncertainty for Chinese college students ’ mainstream ideology education has brought unprecedented challenges. Internet ideological education is a new thing, all kinds of social ideological trend with which the traditional media in the spread of mainstream ideology on the positive role of weakene d on the Internet, college students’ understanding of the mainstream ideology, the ideological and political theory course in colleges and universities is not high, esteemed Marxist guiding status of mainstream ideology and today’s mainstream ideology education has received the unprecedented challenge. To explore how to maintain the dominant position of mainstream ideology in the Internet culture, how to according to the characteristics of the new era improve the mainstream ideology education is the core of this paper research the problem. The information age to strengthen college students’ mainstream ideology education has been imminent.This article used the literature research, questionnaire method, system analysis and sum-up method and other methods, with Marxist ideological theory, person’s full scale development theory, and Lenin’s indoctrination theory as the foundation of research, from the perspective of information era to strengthen the mainstream ideology education, first discusses the origin of th e concept of the information age and development, illustrates the related concepts of the mainstream ideology education, On the basis of clear concept, combined with this paper studies the core of the problem, analyzes the necessity of strengthening colleg e students’ mainstream ideology education. Secondly, the paper makes an investigation on the current status of the college students’ ideology and politics, the political quality for college students, social sense of responsibility to be sure, according to the survey of the actual situation are analyzed in detail the problems of college students’ mainstream ideology education and causes. Finally, in view of the above analysis summary of the key problems, put forward to strengthen college students’ mainstream ideology education in the information age concrete countermeasures of mainstream ideology education to keep up with the pace of The Times, from strengthening as the main channel of college students’ mainstream ideology education of colleges and universiti es, to optimize the content of the college students’ mainstream ideology education, giving full play to the advantages of new media to strengthen the mainstream ideology education, stepping up efforts in supervising the Internet to purify the Internet environment, advocate healthy family education as the expansion of college education, to cope with the challenges faced by.
