Oral communication has already turned out to be the important segment of English learning, which has drawn more attention of people. A good speaker not only means one who can share information in English, but also means that he or she can speak English with pure pronunciation. A systematic knowledge of phonology benefits learners a lot, in terms of memorizing the vocabularies according to their pronunciations, spelling, and words’ meanings. What’s more, it helps students make noticeable progress in listening. It is obvious that the study of Chinese senior high school students’ acquisition of English stress is the foundation of improving their speaking and listening skills. Therefore, the problems of Chinese senior high school students’ English stress acquisition should be found out so that the teachers can adjust the oral teaching strategies timely and help the students improve their listening and speaking skills.The random stratified cluster sampling method was used to select the participants of this research and the tool for phonetic analysis and annotation is Praat Microsoft. The problems of Chinese senior high school students’ English stress acquisition were figured out according to the intensity and duration of the participants. In addition, the shape and the size of shaded area on the spectrum, the vibrating fluctuant change of the formant can reveal the stress acquisition problems. With the help of Office Excel 2013 and SPSS 16.0, the data statistics were carried out efficiently.The results of paper tests and recording experiments show that the main English stress acquisition problems of Chinese senior high school students lie in two aspects: word stress and sentence stress. In the aspect of word stress, there was an inverse correlation between word stress acquisition and word syllables. The stress acquisition rate of homonyms is more than 78%. What’s worse, the stressed vowels and unstressed vowels cannot be distinguished clearly. In the aspect of sentence stress, the acquisition rate is about 93.75%, but the oral accuracy is lower than 68.75%. More worrying, the acquisition rate of sentences stress functional displacement is the lowest one. All the syllables in the same sentence have the convergent duration, and the rhythm of sentences stress is in chaos.
