Research On The Connection Between Music And English And Its Significance To English Teaching In China

Music and language are closely linked no matter in academia or in daily life. In the process of language teaching, music also assumes certain teaching tasks. However, because of the lack of theoretical support from the root, the link between music and language inevitably makes scholars feel like "flowers in the fog". The application of music in teaching is also lack of theoretical basis. Brain science is an emerging discipline in the study of human brain. With the aid of cutting-edge science and technology, it puts forward the relationship between music and language from a new interpretation from the root of life. Brain science theory points out that music and language share the same processing area in human brain, but have different performance area. The stimulation of music on the music and language processing area can activate the language processing capacity at the same time. Based on this theory, this study started with the theoretical framework of language teaching by music teaching theory, pointing out several key elements of music teaching. Moreover, from the perspective of different teaching functions of music teaching method, its specific application methods were discussed.
