According to English Curriculum Standards, the prime and most important task is to motivate students to cultivate the interests in English learning during primary education stage. As curriculum reform goes deeper, it gets more and more attention for teachers to cultivate the interests of junior students in English learning. Therefore, it is necessary for teachers to introduce game teaching in class in the first year. Based on some forms and spirit in the game, this study introduces some interesting games in the classroom which can stimulate learning interest of the students, enhance teaching effects in class and improve the quality of English teaching.This paper took game teaching examples of the English course in grade one of junior high school as research objects. The paper mainly explored application of the game in English course of grade one of junior high school, how to use the classroom game to stimulate students’ interest in learning English, and improve teachers’ teaching effect.The main methods used in the research include documentation, survey, interview and experiment. This paper took the game education theory, pragmatically theory and constructivism as theoretical foundation. In this study, two classes of grade one in Chongqing Hechuan Middle School were chosen as the objects of the experimental test, questionnaire and interview. Defects were discovered when teacher applied game in English course, which could enhance my research. In this paper, the research problem is:1) How to use the game in pre-class preparation stage, in-class teaching stage and practice and consolidation stage;2) Experiment, questionnaire and interview methods were used to judge the effect of class game. Based on the results of effect evaluation, we analyze whether game teaching can improve teaching effects of teacher and the students’ interest in learning English.Based on the research, the application of games in English teaching in grade one of junior high school, can improve the students’ interest in learning English and enhance the teachers’ teaching effect. If an English teacher can apply games appropriately in class, students’ enthusiasm will be aroused, atmosphere of the class will be stimulated and teaching effectiveness will be improved. More importantly, students’ learning attention will improve a lot. It also makes the students happy to learn. But two factors are needed to pay attention in the process of using game teaching method. First, the game must be valuable and meaningful for students’ learning. Second, teachers need to do a long-term follow-up survey to the effect evaluation after the game introduced in the classroom, in order to adjust their teaching strategies of teaching games continuously.
