For the most learners,the final purpose of learning is to communicate with a new language.People want to learn a new language for self-improvement or occupation,etc,which shows the importance of language.Vocabulary plays an important role in English learning.It influences the understanding of English.Vocabulary teaching and learning is a continuous challenge for both students and teachers.It is a teaching method to use game in English vocabulary teaching,which can help them develop their communicative ability and expand their vocabulary.They can speak the target language confidently.One of the methods to improve students’ ability is to let students see the picture or the action.It can develop their vocabulary ability.And enjoy the amusement of game,game activity and game material.The application of game teaching method is also benefit for teachers.According to Khan,"games are activities governed by rules,which set up clearly defined goals".Games consist of fantasy,ritual,competition,and luck that are interesting for children.These things make games enjoyable.It means games reduce boredom.When games are used,the situations of classroom become alive and natural.Games create situations that make children’s need and want to use English.Lee explained that it occurs because in games language is linked by action.Thus,games are appropriate to the principal of language accompanying action.As a technique of teaching games involve children actively.One of the difficult aspects of learning a foreign language,particularly in an EFL context,is vocabulary teaching and learning.Therefore,if we combine the game teaching with vocabulary teaching,the result is to be expected.Based on the above background,this paper aims to explore the effect of introducing game teaching method into primary school English vocabulary teaching of second grade.This time,the participants are two parallel class of my school-Daqing Shihua No.10 primary school.One is the experimental class,the other is the control class.During the experiment,I will teach vocabulary with game teaching method,while in the control class I will still use the traditional vocabulary teaching method.After the experiment,I will analyze the result of the two tests with SPSS 24.As the results show that the application of game teaching method in English vocabulary teaching indeed increase students’ learning interest and inspire students’ enthusiasm.Finally it can improve students’ English.Thus,it can be used in primary school.However,it is not perfect.I also will talk about its deficits and limitations and give some suggestions as well.
