With the implementation of the new curriculum reform and the deepening of quality education, geography teaching has been committed to helping students to learn geography basic skills and methods cultivating students’ observation ability, logical reasoning ability and spatial imagination, so as to promote the students’ cognitive development. Remote sensing image is the main product of modern remote sensing technology,and it is one of the forms of the integration of information technology and geography teaching.Whether it is in the high school geography curriculum standard, geography textbooks or teachers’ teaching practice,the appearance of the remote sensing image is more frequently.However, the geography teachers lack of the knowledge of remote sensing image,not attention to the new technology and students’ lower cognitive level, which is restricting the use of remote sensing image in geography teaching.Especially the interpretation of remote sensing image is quite complex, which make its use more difficult. Therefore, nowadays,study on the remote sensing image interpretation method and mode in the high school geography teaching from the education theoretical perspective, which is not only in line with the idea of the new curriculum requirements to promote the remote sensing image assisted geography teaching,but also help to solve the problem of geography teaching practice in senior high school.The thesis paper is based on the theory of information processing of cognitive psychology,combined with Gagne’s learning and memory information processing model,Richard Meyer · E system memory and information processing model and Atkinson-shiffrin memory information processing model,to constructing information processing model of Remote sensing image.Then based on it,the author propose interpretation methods of remote sensing image,and use this to design teaching case.therefore,the author is mainly writing from the following aspects.First, through a large number of literature research on information processing theory and figure out the research status and existing problems of remote sensing image cognitive process.Second,using the questionnaire survey and interview method to understand the high school students on the level of understanding of remote sensing images, geography teachers’ views of remote sensing images and the status and existing problems of the auxiliary teaching.Third, according to the constructed cognitive model of remote sensing image proposed method of remote sensing image interpretation, and through case analysis, designing interpretation process of remote sensing image from teaching content and college entrance examination.Fourth,in order to provide reference for the remote sensing image to better integrate into the geography teaching,this paper is using geography textbook of Hunan Education Press as a reference to plan the instruction design of remote sensing image assistant teaching.
