Along with the enhancement of healthy consciousness, people have recognized the importance of fitness. Among the millions of fitness methods, most of the people choose the easiest way-running to strengthen their body. Based on this upsurge, marathon become a great popular around the world so that there are thousands of marathon competitions which attract tens of thousands of marathon enthusiasts. As the part of the world’s marathon competition, Hangzhou Marathon has a great number of fans so that the way of random selection is applied to avoid the superfluous applicants. Why so many people are willing to take part in marathon game and what are the motivation the people have? Method of literature, questionnaire survey, mathematics statistics and analysis are taken to do the research upon the competitors of 29thHangzhou Marathon The method of Hangzhou marathon participants motivation structure by factor analysis, single factor variance analysis showed that the Hangzhou marathon participants motivation analysis and figure out conclusions as following:1. There are five aspects upon Hangzhou Marathon competitor’ motivation including healthy motivation, interest motivation, ability motivation, social motivation and appearance of motivation.2.There is a strong participation motivation among the competitors because of the 4.01 motivation among the whole Hangzhou Marathon competitors. The intensity of the five aspects above are healthy motivation(M=4.27), interest motivation (M=3.98), social motivation (M=3.97), appearance motivation (M=3.90), ability motivation (M=3.87)3.Significant differences appear to healthy motivation, interest motivation, social motivation and appearance motivation but ability motivation. Different age groups have significant differences among interest motivation, social motivation, ability motivation and appearance motivation but healthy motivation. Competitors who have different educational background show significant differences among healthy motivation, interest motivation, ability motivation and appearance motivation but social motivation. Competitors who have variant income have significant difference among healthy motivation, interest motivation, social motivation, ability motivation and appearance motivation. Competitors come from different items also have significant differences among healthy motivation, interest motivation, social motivation, ability motivation and appearance motivation.4.Genders have no significant impact on the healthy motivation, interest motivation, ability motivation, social motivation among different sport items. Genders of appearance motivation in different sport items have great impact on competitors. Age have no impact on competitors concerning the healthy motivation, interest motivation and appearance motivation on different sport items. Educational background in appearance motivation in different sport items have no impact on competitors. Income in healthy motivation, interest motivation, ability motivation and social motivation in different sport items have great influence on competitors.
