In recent years, with the athletic sports level worldwide ever improving and researches on athletic training theories further deepened, increasingly more researches were carried out in the area of physical function training, the significance of which was more and more recognized in the sports circle. Currently, most coaches of athletic sports had increased physical function training and achieved remarkable results in some training items. For public fitness programs, a great deal of physical function training was integrated into fitness training by more and more fitness trainers. It has become a trendy word in current fitness training. However, there were few researches on such training in physical education courses in secondary schools. This paper investigated the effects of physical function training in Shangzhuang Middle School, with female students in junior middle grade one as treatment and control groups. Before starting the experiment, the basic background and test indexes of the treatment and control groups were examined and analyzed, and no significant differences were found between the two groups. After 10 weeks of teaching experiment, standardized tests of the above indexes were conducted and the statistics before and after the experiment were analyzed.This paper adopts the methods of literature research, questionnaire survey, expert interview, teaching experiment, mathematical statistics and other research methods. The conclusion of the study are as follows: through 10 weeks of the experiment, the experimental group and control group data analysis and comparison, the experimental group in the sit- ups, sit body flexion, standing long jump, 800 meters to run the project has different rate of growth, and in the 50 meters project growth rate is not too obvious. Control group in body anteflexion in sitting position, standing long jump, 800 meters to run the project has different rate of growth, and in 50 meters and sit ups project growth rate is less obvious. Body function training in the experimental teaching shows that: in the project crunches, 10 weeks after the test of the experimental group and the control group results exist significant differences, 50 meters, standing long jump, body anteflexion in sitting position and 800 meters four project 10 weeks after the experimental group and the control group scores had no significant difference. It shows that the training program designed in this experiment has a significant effect on improving the strength of waist and abdomen.The above conclusion indicated that physical function training was comparatively effective in enhancing students’ physical quality. It not only is a good training method to improve the physical quality of middle school students, but also aroused massive interests and high degree of participation among students, playing important role in extensively improving students’ physical quality.
