Research Of Farmers Co-operation Basis In Western Regions-From The Mode Of Production And Social Relation Networks Perspective

This paper argues that farmers’ cooperation within a certain period of time is a result of the interaction of current mode of production and social network. Based on the survey data of Gonghe county in Qinghai, Xiji County, Minqin County of Gansu, Xiahe County, combined with the literature, research the social networks and agricultural production of traditional and current period in the Northwest Territories, studies have shown:(1) Smallholder production together with the traditional social network support informal farmer cooperative behavior, agricultural demand for services under smallholder agricultural production conditions of farmers during the traditional agricultural production mainly in the production of household tools, labor, animal, etc., which determines the behavior of the traditional informal cooperation focused on arable land, planting, rush in the harvest, playing fields and other fields. While the closed, emotional and instrumental unified, stable social networks of farmer from the search of object, cooperation cost and stable relationship supported the cooperative behavior of traditional agricultural production processes. Therefore, the traditional farmer Co-operative behavior once existed. (2) with the continuous development of agricultural industrialization in current social transformation period, there is a significant change in the mode of production, agricultural products procurement, finance, advanced technology, agricultural products sales services demand more and more prominent, the needs of traditional agriculture gradually disappeared, as the basic of traditional cooperative behavior’s existence, farmer cooperative behavior in the presence of a large number of rural area has gradually faded out the historical stage, the new farmer cooperative began to appear. (3) social networks in transition period of peasant families have undergone tremendous changes, tend to open from closed, emotional and instrumental gradual separation from stable trend instability. From the choice of partner, and the partner trust and cooperation between objects, cooperative relations in terms of the instability, the emotional and instrumental separation characteristics of social networks of peasant family, insufficient to support the universality of benefits and contract based on a new type of farmer cooperation, and this is an important reason for the current farmers’ cooperative difficult" and poor cooperation effect in reality.
