Service learning curriculum originated in the United States, it has gained widespread recognition and promotion in Taiwan of China and Hong Kong of China, but in the mainland it is still unfamiliar, in its infancy. In this paper, the theoretical foundation of service learning in colleges and universities, the basic types of curriculum and the implementation process are discussed, based on this, analysis a part of service learning curriculum in colleges and universities of our country practice case, and then discusses the overall situation of the practice in our country, discusses the citizen education function of service learning curriculum, for the exploration of theory and practice, find out the problems existing in the curriculum of service learning in colleges and universities, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures.The paper mainly adopts literature research, case study method, and interdisciplinary study. Research shows that, in our country to promote service learning curriculum is a process needs to be institutionalized, in the process faced some issues need to solve. But the service learning curriculum of civil education function is increasingly highlighted, in terms of students, this curriculum can make students have strong civic consciousness and social responsibility, if students take an active part in social services and public welfare activities, it is good for their future. In terms of university, this curriculum can improve the relationship between teachers and students, under the guidance of teachers, the students’ subjective initiative could exert, and then promote the effective development of students. In terms of community, service learning curriculum can make the problems of the community solved, and make the community more perfect and harmonious. To explore the service learning curriculum in colleges and universities, for the better in higher education curriculum system has certain reference value, to a certain extent, it also can promote the improvement of the civic education curriculum system in colleges and universities.The introduction part is mainly about the origin and the meaning of this study, the related research results at home and abroad, and the paper’s research methods and research route.The second part is to sort out the foreign and domestic related research results, to define service learning, on the basis of the definition of service learning curriculum and its origins are summarized, and its main function is discussed in this paper.Third part from three aspects to discuss the theoretical foundation of service learning curriculum, they are experience learning theory, liberation education theory and sociological theory, and then discusses the basic types, and from the design, implementation and evaluation of the three parties face the detailed investigation on the implementation process.The fourth part is to analysis a part of service learning curriculum practice case of our country universities, and then discuss the overall situation of the practice in our country.The fifth part is to summarize the problems existing in the curriculum of service learning in colleges and universities, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures. The last part is epilogue.
