Shuttlecock kicking is an ancient game. It has history of more than 2000 years in China. It is scientific and popular. It can give people great entertainment and health. This modern sport is widely circulated with a long history of national sports activities. With the development about 2000 years, it has experienced the development of the prototype network shuttlecock movement, eventually forming the mesh partition against the movement with the competitive nature. In this paper, the use of the literature method, logical analysis method, the expert investigation method is used to analysis the formation and development of shuttlecock in different periods. It summed up each stage of technical content and technical characteristics, the changes of population who are in participation and the changes in the organizational rules. This research explores the cultural inheritance and innovation, in order to provide a theoretical basis for other national traditional sports development.The main conclusions: 1: The shuttlecock is come from the shuttlecock kicking, which has history of more than 2000 years in China. Huttlecock has formed a variety of forms, many experts of shuttlecock kicking and some handed down tricks. Disc(the inner side of the foot kick), Ke(knee kick), stretch(parts of the three toed toe kick), turn(lateral foot kick) technical movements form the basis of modern techniques of shuttlecock movement.2: With the innovation and development of the basis of shuttlecock movement, rules, it developed into the network shuttlecock movement through some changes in the venue, equipment. The shuttlecock become more competitive. The shuttlecock is the prototype of shuttlecock net.3: The 1984 National Sports Committee will determine the shuttlecock as a formal event, then regularly held a number of competitions. The main crowd involved in the competition from the workers to the development of the group of students. Many cities set up a formal organization of shuttlecock association. On one hand, through change of equipment, the location and the score and the number of strokes, additional actions such as the content of the rule, the shuttlecock is more ornamental and athletics. On the other hand “flat push shuttlecock” can reduce the difficulty of shuttlecock game. it make more people to participate in the shuttlecock.4: The shuttlecock is mature step by step, but there are still the following several problems: 1 At present most of athletes in domestic is mainly dominated by groups of students and other groups participate less. 2 The shuttlecock has not been a good popularity in the world. 3 Shuttlecock game is not to get more people’s attention, and social propaganda is not enough. 4 The development of the related organization in the country is not perfect, and in many provinces and cities are not established.The following suggestions are put forward for the development of shuttlecock game: 1 increased shuttlecock net; increase the viewing of the game. 2 the establishment of shuttlecock Club in all provinces. 3 in the primary schools and middle schools all over the country to carry out spline and shuttlecock curriculum, so that the National Traditional Sports have better inheritance in adolescents. 4 special funds from the government and the promotion of professional person going abroad; the shuttlecock as a course in the Confucius Institute.5 increase the degree of concern in the media of the shuttlecock.
