The contradiction between the expanding scale and the improving quality of university graduate education in Zhejiang Province is increasingly acute. The thesis has a systematic research on the quality of university graduate education in Zhejiang Province.The thesis carefully sorts out dozens of documents related to the research on the quality of graduate education. Having referred to Total Quality Management Theory and Systems Science Methodology, the thesis thoroughly explains the meaning of the quality, the quality of education and the quality of graduate education. The quality of graduate education is divided into three parts as follows, the quality of curriculum management, the quality of teaching cultivation and the quality of graduate’s development, it enriches the cognition of the quality of graduate education.The thesis is based on a field investigation of three universities in Zhejiang Province. It includes a series of interviews with some administrators from university authorities and a questionnaire survey of 5000 graduates. The statistics ranging from the quality of curriculum management, the quality of teaching cultivation to the quality of graduate’s development are well collected and analyzed.According to the comprehensive analysis of the graph data from the field investigation, a lot of problems exist in university graduate education in Zhejiang Province. Firstly, from the perspective of curriculum management, the problems are as follows, looseness of teaching management, imperfectness of teaching program, lack of practicality in professional curriculums and insufficiency of scientific research resources. Secondly, from the perspective of teaching cultivation, the problems are as follows, inadequacy of advisor’s teaching time and deficiency of advisor’s teaching ability. Finally, from the perspective of graduate’s development, the problems are as follows, unevenness of graduate’s moral qualities, low-level of scientific research enthusiasm and weakness of independent scientific research abilities.Deeply focusing on these obvious problems of the quality of graduate education in Zhejiang Province, the thesis figures out a series of facts in blame as follows, deviation of educational cognition, scarcity of scientific research resources, lack of advisor’s access mechanism, imbalance of assessment mechanism orientation and oneness of evaluation system.Based on the thoroughly reflection, the thesis points out that, only by taking countermeasures such as dynamically optimizing the implementation of graduate curriculum, creating a synergy mechanism of advisors, perfecting advisor’s and graduate’s assessment indicator system and structuring an evaluation system full of plurality, can we effectively improve the quality of university graduate education in Zhejiang Province.
