The expansion of graduate education from2003has been10years in China andthe scale of Graduate Education has maintained a rapid growth momentum. In recentyears, the graduate education has reached a certain scale, at the same time, trainingquality has declined. Scientific outlook on development emphasizes not only dependson the size, more about quality. The development of graduate education in twenty-firstCentury is not only reflected in the scale of growth, but also depends on theimprovement of the quality. All activities of graduate education cannot do withoutmanagement. Not to strengthen the management, everything would be out of order,even the quality benefit at least it will also lose, not to mention improve it. Therefore,the management of graduate education is becoming more and more urgent andimportant. Strengthen the management of graduate education can improve the qualityof training students, is conducive to the healthy and harmonious development ofgraduate education. How to cultivate the new graduate student who not only meet theneeds of social economic development, but also has the ability of standardization andinnovation is the core and key work of the graduate education management incolleges and universities now.Based on the particularity of Graduate Education Management and the currentsituation of Graduate Education Management, to find the problems of the currentGraduate Education Management and point out the deficiencies from four aspects:management system、management content、management team, self-management andthen, put forward suggestions to the management of graduate education in the newperiod.First of all, this study on the basis of previous research results, defines the relatedconcepts, such as education management, graduate education management andanalyses the particularity of graduate education management.Secondly, based on the enlarging trend of graduate education in the new period,combined with graduate education management’s particularity and the presentsituation, affirm the achievement of the graduate education management, at the same time,point out the problems existed in Graduate Education Management in the newperiod. Such as, enrollment system is not reasonable、elimination mechanism is notperfect、moral educational management has been neglected、the attention degree of themental health education is not enough、the uncoordinated development of tutor team、the degree of administrator’s specialization is not enough、 the awareness of graduatestudent’s self-management is not strong and so on. And then, analyse the reasons ofthese problems.Finally, in order to improve the training quality of the graduate education andpromote the healthy and harmonious development of graduate education in the newperiod, by using the relevant theoretical knowledge of the Higher Education andManagement, start from the reality of the graduate education management in the newperiod, put forward the countermeasures to the reformation and innovation of thecolleges and universities’ graduate education management in the new era.
