With the development of computer technology and network technology, variety of social software, APP, smart phones,4g network and wireless network technology are changing the modern college students’ ways of learning, thinking and communication. However, at present most of the university classroom is difficult to meet the college students’ learning demand in information age by the limitation of the traditional teaching concept and mode, such as the curriculum content, teaching time, class size, etc. Therefore, in the information age, there is a big difference between the ways of college students’ learning, thinking and communication and the traditional teaching concept, teaching mode, and evaluation method etc. Based on the above reasons, this paper has carried out social software based applied research on the blended teaching mode. This research is aim to explore the hybrid teaching application by the social software teachers and students proficiently used, in order to make up the problems in traditional teaching mode, such as teaching oriented teaching mode, the lack of interaction between teachers and students, learning motivation, limitations of the teaching evaluation.Firstly, this paper analyzes relevant theories on social software, blended teaching, combining the need for national policies and education reform education teaching, and demonstrates the feasibility and necessity of this study. Secondly, it summarizes the research status at home and abroad through the literature research, and investigates blended learning demand by questionnaire, so as to build a blended teaching mode based on social software. Finally, it applies the blended teaching mode in learning technology and application in the information age course for half a year’s practice, and demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of applying blended teaching mode in universities elective course, through the observation, interview, questionnaire survey and the actual teaching practiceThrough both theory and practice, this study confirmed the advantages of social software based blended teaching mode in public elective courses. It effectively solved the problem of communication and collaboration between teachers and students. It decreased the difficulty of the techniques by using social software to build the network learning environment, and motivated the learners’ interest in learning. The application of evaluation methods makes learners participate in the whole learning process and learning results evaluation can truly reflects the learners’ learning situation. It is conducive to the cultivation of comprehensive ability. The practical research on blended teaching mode is helpful for college teachers to change the traditional teaching way, improve students’ learning enthusiasm and initiative in public courses.
