In recent years, Study on critical thinking has been highly developed in the West, but in China critical thinking research is still very weak.Studying mathematics critical thinking of high school students helps development of students’ mathematical thinking, and helps students learn math. This paper regarded senior high school students as the object of investigation to get their in-depth comprehensive understanding of the mathematics critical thinking.This paper mainly uses a hybrid methodology combining qualitative and quantitative research, including literature review, questionnaire and interview. By collecting and consulting literature, this paper reviews the relevant theories and researches critical thinking both domestic and foreign, and gives a research framework on this basis. The questionnaire is decided through researching literature and framework, by which teachers and senior high school students of Suzhou High School will be tested. The questionnaire mainly investigates the tendency of the teachers and students’ critical thinking and skills of students’ mathematics critical thinking. In addition, interviews with individual students can not only verify the survey results, but also learn more about the problems and deficiencies of the entire investigation process.By studying the conclusions are as follows:(1) the tendency of teachers’ and students’ critical thinking are inconsistent, and the critical thinking of teachers is on the upper middle level, but the critical thinking of teachers is on the lower middle level;(2) high school boys and girls have a little difference about the tendency of the critical thinking, boys in terms of self-confidence and curiosity perform better than girls and boys have little advantages in the analytical and systematic, while girls in maturity, truth and thought of openness perform better than boys a little;(3) boys do better than girls on skills of mathematics critical thinking, specifically in the ability to analyze problems, spatial mapping ability, reasoning and other aspects.
