The secondary vocational school education plays an irreplaceable role in China’s economic growth and full employment. With the outline of "Public Art Curriculum in Secondary Vocational school (2013)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Outline") was promulgated, to promote quality education, the cultivation of students’ occupational accomplishment and innovation ability, realize the students "comprehensive development, sustainable development", Cultivating high-quality workers and technical skilled talents has become a new trend in the development of secondary occupation education, As an important part of quality education and the main carrier of the public music curriculum, the setting and implementation situation in secondary vocational schools have gradually been focused on. The most important issue for the implementation of public music curriculum in secondary vocational schools is how to implement the "Outline", "have complete and enough art curriculum", after all this is a policy implementation issues, especially the actual situations of the local secondary school are not the same, and it is more difficult to implement. Therefore, in the development of modern occupation education and quality education today, how to combine their own conditions and characteristics of secondary vocational school students, the full implementation of public music courses, still need to continue to explore in practice.The research object of this article is the implementation of public music course in secondary vocational school. It approaches include literature research, interview and questionnaire method, through the definition of relevant concepts, the theoretical basis of the research and implementation of the status quo investigation.The author has analyzed and ponder the current situation of the implementation of public music curriculum in secondary vocational school and the existing problems, and put forward some countermeasures and suggestions. Public music curriculum of vocational schools not only differs from the basic music courses in general high school, but also differs from the specialized music courses of colleges and universities (Art Vocational School), characterized as Universal, practical and comprehensive and so on. Take The Vocational School of information engineering and of Guangzhou City as a case study, the author has analyzed public music courses offered, status of teachers and students in music learning. The author investigated and analyzed the public music curriculum setting, music teachers status and student learning, discussed the specific implementation process of teaching content, methods and evaluation.The innovation of this article is through stereo image, vivid typical lesson plans and lesson analysis to show how the implementation of public music curriculum combined with students’ interest and professional characteristics to carry out the teaching activities. The author hopes to provide some useful references for the reform and development of the public music curriculum in secondary vocational schools in our country through the research.
