With the society developed, more and more universities have opened art majors, more and more families began to let their children take the art college entrance examination. The admission line of art college is much lower than ordinary college’s, especially nowadays, the admission line of the art college is on the decline, as a result, which rose the number of students who are willing to take the artistic examination Besides, which made the art students pay less attention to the general courses. However, English subject is a short board for art students. Under the current situation, how to develop the traditional teaching model, how to use some teaching strategies to evoke art students’confidence and enthusiasm for their English learning to help them develop humanity quality that high school students should have.As Art students, their English foundation is poor and vocabulary is much less than the students from general middle school. The art students have no enough vocabulary, but they begin to learn senior high school English. Furthermore, there are no specialized English learning materials that are suitable for art students, and most senior art school still use ordinary high school textbooks. As a result, it is very difficult to keep up with the progress for the freshmen in art senior schools, although teachers use certain teaching strategies. Regardless of how lively English class is, for the art students who have no basic vocabulary,they will pay more but get less. For a new art students in senior high school, vocabulary rumination is very necessary. After the consolidation and review for junior high school vocabulary, as a result, the students may follow their English teachers in their high school.The ordinary textbooks for senior high school are for the students who are successfully admitted to high school, also, the students have finished English learning in their junior high school. They have enough English vocabulary to help them learn senior high school English.In fact a lot of art students in high school failed to pass the entrance examination, only because of their art, they was promoted to senior students to continue gleaming, so proper design of the teaching content, choosing suitable teaching materials could be useful to art students to learn and accept English, which are helpful to increase the participation rate of students in the classroom, to improve the effectiveness of teaching.English study habits of Art students are generally poor. In art high school, the teachers should help their students design learning activities as many as possible in order to create learning opportunities for their students to learn English, including design of homework. The teachers should consider word frequency as much as possible through occurring in learning materials to deepen the students’image to help students to memorize and master learned vocabulary and expressions.This paper starts from the knowledge consistency, makes the vocabulary as a prerequisite for the English teaching in Art senior high school, takes rumination of junior high school vocabulary teaching into high school curriculum plan to research on vocabulary rumination strategy; The teachers in art senior high school should use ten minutes before class effectively so as to develop students’vocabulary and improve the interest of students in English learning. The integration of the content for ordinary senior high school textbook and the reasonable design of teaching materials are also effective strategy. The teacher should help students to design a suitable learning materials, homework materials to make art students gradually master the vocabulary and the related curriculum learning content, which may increase the rate of listening in the classroom, reduce the number of art students to give up learning English.besides, the writer researched on the learning performance of the students after the teaching materials were integrated through analyzing data.The paper consists of five parts. In the first part, the research background was introduced firstly. Secondly, the concept of English teaching strategies and the art high school were defined. Thirdly the author collected data and information about related literature on teaching strategies. The second part is the survey about class problems during English teaching in art senior high school where the author has been teaching. The third part is the discussion and research on the English Teaching in art senior high school based on investigation and analysis. The fourth part is the summary on teaching experiment, including innovations and limitations of the experiment as well as the practical significance of this study. The five part is conclusion of the paper. In this part, the author points out its basic ideas, including the proposals and measures that might be taken in future English teaching, besides, the author puts forward some problems that are hoped to solve in future.
