Since the beginning of new curriculum reform, not only curriculum ideas, perception of teachers and students, teaching concepts and so on have new changes, also the traditional teaching concept has gradually replaced by the idea of teaching materials that advocated by new curriculum. Curriculum reform advocates teachers using "Textbooks " rather than simply" teaching materials ". Material itself has the universal applicability and relative stability, the main users of textbook are teachers and students. Textbook is specific basis upon teaching, and it’s also the important resource carrier for students’ learning. The application of textbooks should integrate into flexible teaching situation. So it can be said, to a certain extent, the way of using textbook determines teaching and learning. Teachers are the main force in textbook redevelopment, and students are also the important participants. Under the guidance of new curriculum concept, teachers should use geography textbook creatively. In the precondition of following curriculum standard and under the guidance of new curriculum concept, textbook redevelopment should promote in order to meet students’ need.This paper advocate new curriculum concept. Choosing new research perspective by analyzing the current situation of geography textbook redevelopment at home and abroad. Then investigate and analyzethe principles, processes and methods of textbook redevelopment Finally, promote the textbook redevelopment.This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter discusses the significance of the research, analyzes the research status at home and abroad. Putting forward some research problems and expounds the research methods ideas. The second chapter is the theoretical basis of the textbook redevelopment which involves teaching theory and geography teaching theory. The main content of third chapter is about the analysis of textbook redevelopment questionnaire. Discuss upon two aspects of questionnaire, design and implementation as well as statistics and analysis. The fourth chapter put forward the standard of course-based principles, students’ develop principles, local principles, and the times principles of textbook redevelopment in Shandong Education version of high school geography textbook.Then propose the process of textbook redevelopment, that is Interpretation of curriculum standard —Analysis of teaching materials-Setting development goals —Integration of resources. Finally raise the methods for adding, deleting, strengthening and refining about textbook redevelopment. The main contents of fifth chapter is distinctive analysis of Shandong Education version of high school geography textbook.Taking the" internal and external forces and the change of surface morphology" as an example, putting forward the specific method of redevelopment. The sixth chapter is the conclusion part, which is the summary and reflection of the research.
