Junior middle school English new curriculum standard emphasizes the teacher should change the traditional English course "force-feeding"teaching methods, the tendency of neglecting the actual language using ability for students, emphasize the course from the students’ interest in learning, life experience and cognitive level, advocates experience, practice, cooperation and exchange of study way, developing the students’English comprehensive language using ability.This study based on the second day of English class teaching practice, carding a large number of literatures, this paper summarizes the current research status at home and abroad, and combining with the investigation and practice of X middle school, through combining the theoretical analysis and practical investigation, the ARCS model used in English teaching, to provide the reference for improving English teaching. Through practice in X school, after the ARCS model is applied to the experimental class teaching effect and students before and after experimental classes of contrast analysis found that:students for English learning attitude and interest has been greatly promoted, formerly passive learning into active exploration; The language communication skills have been greatly improved, from the previous "dumb English" to dare to express their ideas in English. Thus it is concluded that the ARCS model can effectively guide 2 English teaching design and practice of conclusion.The shortcomings of this study is that present situation analysis of the representation of the part of conclusion may not be comprehensive enough; In the practice stage, factors such as teaching environment, teaching content has a certain influence on students, so to some extent there is a deviation in the conclusion part. But believe this study for the ARCS model was applied to the junior middle school English teaching practice further research has certain guiding significance.
