Since 21 st century, international economic and cultural exchange has been increasing, therefore, China is attaching more and more importance to English learning. As the increasing attention on kindergarten English education, it has become a hot topic in nowadays society. It has become a tendency that children start learning English before they enter elementary school. Nevertheless, the development degree of English education in kindergarten is of varying quality. The most obvious problem is that the development of theory can hardly meet the needs of practice. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the most suitable and effective teaching method of kindergarten English education. Based on the environment of kindergarten English education and the features of children in China, while, considered the author’s own teaching practice and experience at the same time, the author believed that TPR teaching method is more effective than other teaching methods.At present, the acknowledgment of TPR teaching method mostly come from theory, the evidence and applied research is hard to find in kindergarten English education. Author was cooperate with several kindergartens in Jilin city to compared the teaching efficiency of teaching method and traditional English teaching method through questionnaire surveys and teaching experiments. This study found that TPR teaching method had a huge advantage over traditional teaching method in kindergarten English teaching. This teaching method helped students quickly learning and mastering knowledge. When it came to the existing disadvantages, the biggest problem was that teachers who was using TPR teaching method were in very limited level. Most teachers did not use it specifically and systematically, but only asked students to did the action by language. As a result, in order to achieved the best teaching efficiency, TPR teaching method should be used more widely through the whole teaching progress in kindergarten English education.Author hope to give a clearer view of TPR method by through the introduction of TPR theory and the result of the comparison of teaching experiments between TPR method and traditional teaching method in kindergarten. This paper shows how important role TPR method can play in kindergarten English teaching. Author hope this research can give some opinions for kindergarten teachers on the choice of teaching methods. In addition, for these teachers who are using TPR method, can use this method in a more effective way. Better using TPR method can fundamentally enhance kindergarten students’ English ability and reduce their learning pressure. Finally, this paper is aim at giving some advice and enlightenment for teachers to make TPR method more flexible and efficient in children English teaching.
