Experiment teaching is an important part of the science teaching in elementary school. We found that currently there are some problems and deficiencies in the science experiment teaching. The new curriculum reform requires teachers to improve the experiments; some science teachers already know the importance of improvement for the experiments after practice, but still encounter resistance; there are few studies on the practice of science experiment teaching in elementary schools in China. Therefore, the experiment teaching as the main line of science teaching will be the direction of the reform; some experiments should be improved.In this paper, we deliver the questionnaire to the students and teachers in four schools in Suzhou area. After analyzing the results from the questionnaire, we get a quite comprehensive understanding of the current situation of science experiment teaching in elementary schools in Suzhou.Based on the research and the section our body in the textbook from Compulsory Education Press, we analyze and re-design the four experiments in this section, which are "Observe our bodies", "Observe the arm movements", "why the breath becomes faster ", and "Digestive organs in our body".We choose two fourth grade classes from Zhenzhuhu elementary school in Suzhou to do the experiments. Different teaching methods are used for them to do the study. After finishing the experiment teaching, the questionnaire and testing are used to do the deep analysis of the results from the improvement of the experiments. We firstly do the mean value calculation of the results and later do the analysis using the SPSS19.0. It is proved that the experiment improvement has a positive influence to all the five aspects which are the emotion attitude value, the scientific knowledge grasping, the experimental skill, the mode of thinking and the initiative.The conclusion of our study:1. To provide reference for the study of improvement of experiment teaching in the textbook in future;2. After taking the improved experiments, students will be more intuitive to acquire perceptual knowledge. It does not only help students the understand and master the science knowledge, but it can also make the students become more interested in the learning; It also helps students to obtain information to solve the problem, and stimulates the students’ desire to explore; It helps to the formation and development of the students’ good thinking. It is also helpful for students to acquire experience and enable students to master the correct operating methods of the experiment and improve the experimental operation skills, so as to enhance the efficiency of science teaching.3 Provide the specific suggestions and references for teachers and to help teachers to get a better growth and development.
