Relaxation exercises serve as a bridge for sports players to regain tranquility after loaded training. It refers to a rapid recovering measure to ease discomfort and achieve relative tranquility both physically and mentally after the basic exercises in competition, training and PE classes in order to eliminate fatigue, restore physical strength and to prevent the accumulation of lactic acid and fatigue. At present, high-level volleyball players are faced with slow recovery after training. The lack of proper relaxing methods is an important factor influencing their performance enhancement. Meanwhile, researchers of this field in China pay more attention to the main part of training, putting relaxation exercises at a disadvantage.To enrich the theory of relaxation exercises of athletics volleyball training and offer references for coaches and athletes in real training, this paper chooses 9 high-level volleyball teams from 6 universities in Jiangsu province as its research objects. Through literature materials, questionnaires, observation, mathematical statistics and logical analysis, this paper draws the following conclusions:1. Coaches and athletes from the mentioned 6 universities are all aware of the significance of relaxation exercises after training. But in practice, the athletes on their own to relax finishing activities is not critical, most coaches do not have strict requirements for athletes to relax organize activities.2. Although relaxation exercises are rare to find in their training plans, according to statistics, Most athletes surveyed express their will to have relaxation exercises after training. At the same time, coaches are willing to assist athletes to finish this part and athletes also embrace the company from their coaches.3. According to survey, Most athletes and coaches support the idea that different relaxation exercises should be adopted considering different level of sports injury, training and other aspects. Among all relaxation exercises, athletes emphasize stretching exercises and after sports massage the most.4. Duration of relaxation exercises is decided in accordance with the load of training. All coaches and athletes agree that athletes should spend less than 20 minutes for relaxation when they feel a little tired after suitable amount of training, 20 to 40 minutes when they have moderate fatigue and more then 40 minutes of relaxation exercises when they suffer severe fatigue.5. Jiangsu Province, six high- level college volleyball coaches in the design relax organize activities, have followed scientific principles, the principle of comprehensiveness; most coaches use the principle of distinction, acceptability and close observation of the principles and the principles of proper feedback; Coach small part of the use of the principle of diversity and integrity principles.6. The relaxation exercises of the athletes from 6 Jiangsu universities are mainly divided into two parts: mild exercises and partial relaxation. The mild exercises primarily include jogging, free-standing exercises, coordinative exercises, etc. Partial relaxation includes massage, stretching and so on. The relaxation exercises are planned according to related standards, but the training effect is negatively influenced as some athletes cannot finish the exercises according to requirements.7. Coaches and athletes have awareness of the importance of mental adjustment in relaxation exercises after training. Coaches will help athlete to stay positive by adopting methods like encouraging words, private conversation with athletes and reason analysis to give customized suggestion to different athletes. When faced with mental troubles, athletes themselves should make psychological adjustment by themselves through distraction, talking to themselves, self-encouragement, listening to music and so on so forth. However the knowledge and methods related to mental adjustment is far from enough.
