With abundant teaching methods for English teaching has become the consensus of teaching workers. But Audio-Oral teaching, as a language skill learning in secondary schools especially in junior middle school, didn’t get the attention they deserved due to various reasons. But the time-limit in our current junior middle school English classroom teaching, parents’ and students’ prejudice for listening and speaking course-that is, the goal of the course is the full marks on the examination paper, make it hard to meet the requirements. What’s more, there are scarce texts combined with a film of domestic English tutorial class. Under the background, it is even harder to complete the requirements of new Curriculum. Fortunately, English animation has the features of childlike, exquisite pictures, clear and healthy circumstances, not long sentences and slower reading speed, which makes the imitation possible. So the author selected English animated clips into the traditional English Audio-Oral class, and then applied to teaching practice under the research at home and abroad and the supported theories like constructivism and language input, motivation theory, etc. This study attempts to solve the following two questions:(1) Can the Audio-oral Class improve the interest of the students with the help of the animations? (2) Can the Audio-oral Class improve the listening and speaking skills of the students with the help of the animations? Therefore I chose 100 students from two different classes in Qichun Experimental Middle School as the research objects. Experimental class adopted into English animation pattern, while the other class still adopts the traditional mode of English Audio-Oral class. I adopted quantitative research tools such as questionnaire and interview of qualitative research tools to collect the data, and make the corresponding analysis. Through a year of empirical research and data statistical analysis, the following are my conclusions:(1) the Audio-oral Class can improve the interest of the students with the help of the animations; (2) the Audio-oral Class can improve the listening and speaking skills of the students with the help of the animations. Although the use of this is not a very new technology breakthroughs, no surprise, explosive effect, it is a very brave step for our long-term teachers who are struggling with the pressure of the entrance to the school. Also hope to encourage me to get more teaching innovation and push me to achieve our school’s slogan "colorful classroom".
