With the vigorous development of online education, online learning has become an important way for self-improvement. But problems that learners during online learning lack persistence, full attention and learning efficiency are worth to study. This paper aims to study the effect of online learning vedio with Cue Points on online learners’ learning based on previous papers, education platforms and questionnaires and using the quasi-experimental study, survey and interview to solve these problems and provide references for applying Cue Points to online education,we can conclude that:1. Video with Cue Points reduced the learners’ clicking frequency on the video progress bar and shortened the time they spend learning the video, which help learners improve their learning efficiency and relief their cognitive loads.2. The effect of video with Cue Points on learners with different learning styles varies. For example, Cue Points significantly reduced active learners’ clicks on the video progress bar and the visual learners’ efforts, keeping sensing learners’ learning interest, improving language learners’ learning satisfaction and self-efficacy and sequential learners’ learning procedural knowledge and so on.3. Video duration had positive correlation with Cue Points. The longer video is, the better learning efficiency the learners got.4. Online learners were in favor of applying Cue Points to online learning and suggested that it helps to improve learning efficiency, reducing learning time and achieve content navigation. During application, it’s necessary to select the appropriate Cue Points position and describe the content of Cue Points accurately. The idea in this paper is relatively new. It also includes experimental research and technology. Quasi-experimental study has reference value for applying Cue Points. It also provides guidance for teachers who want to use Cue Points, which improve the application of Cue Points in online education.
