There are more than 1.3 billion people in China, half of which live in rural areas. More than half of the school-age children are in rural areas, and rural education determines the success of education in China. Rural junior high school students are the future of rural areas, also the future of China, thus their ideological and moral education should be strengthened to make them the builders and successors of socialist cause with Chinese characteristics.In recent years, with the gradual deepening of reform and opening up, the rapid development of the socialist market economy, and the continuous progress of urbanization, rural society has changed dramatically. The diversification of cultural information, a variety of good and bad ideas and subverted traditional values spread rapidly in rural areas, violently hitting the ideological and moral education in rural junior high school students. What are the problems of rural junior high school ideological and moral education? What caused these problems? How to solve these problems, strengthen and improve the ideological and moral education in rural junior high school? The questions above are the urgent theoretical and practical issues on ideological and moral education in rural junior high school students, which is also the main topic of this thesis.This thesis argues that the ideological and moral education in rural junior high school education consists that the educator apply a purpose, planned and organized influence to students by means of cultural values, political views and ethics based on socialist core values to promote their acceptation of this education, and form a social practice in line with the requirements of social development. The importance of strengthening the ideological and moral education of rural junior middle school students consists in that it helps to solve the existing ideological and moral problem of rural junior high school students, helps to promote the comprehensive development of the rural junior middle school students and helps the construction of new countryside and new urban construction smoothly.On the basis of literature and social survey, the thesis argues that the main problems of ideological and moral education in rural junior high school are as follows:outdated education concept, ambiguous objective, vacant content, etc. The main causes of these problems are:the negative impact of the utilitarian nature of the rural junior middle school education, low quality of ideological and moral educators, and negative factors of the negative social environment. How to solve these problems and strengthen the ideological and moral education of rural junior middle school? We should take the following measures:a clear ideological and moral education in rural junior high school goals, enriching the content of ideological and moral education in rural junior high school, improving the ways and means of ideological and moral education, improving the overall quality of rural junior high school’s ideological and moral educators, optimizing the ideological and moral education environment of rural junior high school.
