China and South Korea have a long history of diplomacy, especially in contemporary time. Interactions between China and South Korea have had lasting effects on their respective economies and their culture. Korean clothes, make-up brands, TV series and songs are all prominent in China in what has been known as the "Korean wave". In Korea, Mandarin is slowly replacing Japanese as the second language in Korea. These phenomena demonstrate the increasing intimate relationship between the two countries.Both Chinese and Korean cultures are both heavily influenced from Confucianism. Also their languages are deeply influenced by Confucianism.Korean was invented in 1443 by King Sejong of Korea through his book "Hunminjeongeum". At the time, King Sejong banned the use of Chinese in China, yet the majority of the Korean characters are based of Chinese characters of the time. There are four kinds of ways contemporary Korean words are composed:words based on the Chinese language, words based on the Japanese language, words whose meaning and pronunciation come directly from foreign languages and words created by the local Koreans. However, approximately 70% of the Korean language is composed of Chinese characters and words. It is worth to study and research these words to recognize a pattern, with the objective of facilitating study of the Korean and Chinese languages.This paper aims to compare Korean and Chinese language and observe their similarities in difference. Then, the methods of teaching Chinese to Korea primary schools students will be analyzed.This dissertation makes comparison between Chinese characters and Chinese characters in Korean vocabularies based on comparative study. For example, perfect homonyms, homonym and synonym. In that case, analyzing the mistakes which arouse out of the effects by those Chinese characters in Korean vocabularies during the study of primary Korean Chinese language learners. What’s more, it can help Korean Chinese learners from those mistakes and be more convenient and easier to make students remember Chinese vocabulary. It definitely will arouse the interest for learning Chinese for primary students. At the same time, this would call the attention of teachers to adopt more efficient methods to lead students to an easier way to study, but to a knotty situation.I have been a Chinese teacher in a girls’ middle school in Busan, South Korea. The name of the textbook used was "Everyday Chinese". A statistical analysis of the Chinese characters has been made in order to sum up the rate of Chinese characters in primary Chinese teaching and on the other hand, to look for a way much easier way to study some Chinese vocabularies for primary and higher-level students.
