Under the background of the international science education reform, the science education under the concept of "nature of science", "scientific inquiry" and "science, technology, society and environment" has attracted much attention. The world countries and regions make these concerns reflected in national level curriculum, and science in the textbook as a directly use of teaching materials by teachers and students bearing the important mission. At the same time, "the earth and the universe" as an important component of science education play a big role, but the part of the content has been ignored to a certain extent. Aiming at these problems, the research purpose is to explore the the earth and the universe in science textbooks of United States, Taiwan of China and the mainland China about "nature of science", "scientific inquiry" and "scientific, technical, social and the environmental", this article mainly from the following several aspects to discuss:First, in the introduction part presents the research background from two aspects:the educational attention of international science and the degree of concern on the earth and the universe, and further clarify the purpose and significance of the study is to enable research and the realization of the expected results further clarify, researching with a clear goal.Secondly, in the first three chapters, introduce the theoretical basis, the definition of the concept and the literature review. This paper uses the Cognitive-developmental theory, the constructivism theory and the textbook theory of Dewey as the basic theory, in order to make the research have roots, and guarantee the rationality under the guidance of theory. To further understanding the specific connotation of the concepts involved in this study, the article clarify the corresponding concept based on the different research subject on "the nature of science", "science inquiry" and "scientific, technical, social and environmental". Under the guidance of the theory of this research can ensure the rationality in the literature study is standing on the shoulders of giants, the article research the previous achievements about the comparison of science textbook in general and the philosophy of education on the "nature of science", "science inquiry" and "scientific, technical, social and environmental", played an important role in the development of this study, and laid a certain foundation for the research methods, research process, problems and so on.Again, this paper further makes clear the research content, to compare and analysis from the program, the form, the dimension and the content in the three sets of textbooks about the "nature of science", "scientific inquiry" and "science, technology, society and environment" of "the earth and the universe", and make the research tools in support of the theory, clarity the textbook analysis unit and the dimensions of analysis. To make the research questions specific, actionable, and demonstrated the feasibility of research by the analysis of reliability and validity. At the end of this a series of preparatory work, in the fifth chapter, the sixth chapter and the seventh chapter contents of the third chapter is the main content of this study, embodies the three sets of textbooks "earth and universe" part in the "nature of science", "scientific inquiry" and "science, technology, society and environment" the three aspects of the data statistics and feature analysis.Finally, get the conclusion about the three sets of textbooks for "nature of science", "scientific inquiry", "science, technology, society and environment" in the program, the form, the dimension and the contents characteristics through the results of the data and the analysis. These characteristics reflects the coherence about the textbooks and Curriculum standards. The article further put forward suggestions from the textbook writing and teaching two aspects, with a view to the teaching material development contribute. After that, this paper makes a reflection and summary of the research process, and puts forward the direction of future efforts.
