This paper using quantitative and qualitative research method compared the children’s independent living ability difference between kindergarten and home. First, through training teachers and parents, the researchers let them to assess children’s independent living ability at home and kindergarten. On the basis of the data for analysis it is concluded that:1.There are significant differences of all children’s general situation and five dimensions, namely diet washing, toilet, daily life and sorting personal items.2. Analysis of the different ages’independent living ability, to the bottom class, There is no difference on the dimension of sorting personal items. The situation in home is better than that of in the kindergarten. There are significant differences on the rest dimension, and the situation in kindergarten is better than that of in the home. To the middle class, there is no difference on general situation and five dimensions, and the situation in kindergarten is better than that of in the home. The top class, there is no difference on the dimension of toilet. And there are significant differences of general situation and the rest dimensions.3. Analysis of the different gender’s independent living ability conclusion:Female children’s independent living ability in all ages is better than male children.4. Analysis of the different age and gender’s independent living ability conclusion:The small female children’s independent living ability’s general situation of hone is better than that in kindergarten, but there is no significant difference. The rest of the children of different gender in different ages, independent living ability in the home are better than in the kindergarten, and there were significant differences.Secondly, selecting one boy child and one girl child who had significant differences and one boy child and one girl child who had no significant difference in all ages as the observation objects, recording and describing their independent living behavior at home and kindergarten. The researcher finds that there are differences among children’ independent living behavior, and then explains the difference in detail to make the difference between independent living ability at home and kindergarten clear.Furthermore, according to the performance of children’s independent living behavior, the researcher analyses the reason why there is difference between independent living behavior at home and kindergarten. And then finds out, the different environment between home and kindergarten, family, kindergarten, and children’s own aspects, these cause difference in behavior independent living. Environment as one reason affects children’s independent living behavior, including the environmental establishment, life regular, the number of adults and the relationship between adults and children, peers and so on. Family, from parent education concept and attitude, their habits, education way and strategy and so on has carried on the reason analysis. Kindergarten reason includes education content between home and kindergarten, kindergarten organized activities, teachers’ role. And the children’s home role and status also has carried on the reason analysis.Finally, to offer some reference, based on the analysis the reason of the difference between home and kindergarten, the researcher pertinently put forward a set of measures, for example, building a suitable environment, kindergarten doing a good mentor, coordinating home and kindergarten and so on.
